Please read this disclaimer carefully before submitting a request or participating in any consultation facilitated by temporary.fund.
temporary.fund is a charitable organization. We are not a law firm, legal services provider, accounting firm, or registered financial advisory. We do not practice law or provide financial advice.
Our role is limited to: reviewing submission requests, identifying and connecting creatives with appropriate expert partners, and facilitating the logistics of an initial consultation. We do not participate in, supervise, or take responsibility for the content of any consultation.
Information shared during a facilitated consultation is general guidance only. It does not constitute formal legal advice, financial advice, or any other professional advisory service, and should not be relied upon as such for any specific legal matter, financial decision, or business action.
Creatives are encouraged to seek formal, independent professional counsel for any matter requiring specific legal or financial advice. An initial consultation with a temporary.fund expert partner is a starting point - not a substitute for a formal professional engagement.
Consultations facilitated by temporary.fund between creatives and attorney expert partners do not establish attorney-client privilege. Attorney-client privilege is a formal legal protection that requires a direct, acknowledged engagement between an attorney and their client - typically formalized through a signed engagement letter or retainer agreement. A Fund-facilitated consultation does not meet this threshold.
Information shared during a facilitated consultation is treated in confidence by all parties but is not legally protected as privileged communication. You should not share information during an initial consultation that you require to be legally privileged.
If you wish to establish attorney-client privilege, that relationship must be formed directly between you and an attorney, independently of temporary.fund, through a formal engagement agreement. If your consultation leads to an ongoing relationship with your matched attorney, they will provide their own engagement letter and terms at that stage.
Expert partners participating in the temporary.fund program are independent professionals. They are not employees, agents, or representatives of temporary.fund. Their participation in a facilitated consultation does not create any agency relationship between them and the Fund, or between them and the submitting creative, beyond the scope of that consultation.
temporary.fund does not endorse, warrant, or guarantee the quality, accuracy, or suitability of any guidance provided by expert partners. Any reliance on information provided during a consultation is at your own discretion.
Expert partners retain their own professional and ethical obligations under applicable bar rules, licensing requirements, and codes of conduct. These obligations are independent of the Fund and are not administered or enforced by temporary.fund.
temporary.fund's role begins with the receipt of a submission and ends at the introduction of a matched expert partner. Specifically:
Any ongoing engagement between a creative and an expert partner following the initial consultation is entirely between those parties. temporary.fund has no role in, responsibility for, or knowledge of any such ongoing relationship unless explicitly requested by both parties.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, temporary.fund, its board members, staff, contractors, and expert partners shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or harm arising from: the content of any consultation; any action taken or not taken in reliance on consultation guidance; any failure to establish attorney-client privilege; or any breach of confidentiality by an expert partner acting outside the terms of their participation agreement.
Nothing in this disclaimer limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
